Building Codes & Inspections

 

I would like to take a moment to introduce myself.  My name is Doug Caffey and I was appointed the Building Official for the City of Clute on 7-10-2008.  I cannot tell you how excited and what a honor it is to have an opportunity to serve the City of Clute.  Twenty seven years in the building industry has allowed me training and experience in all levels of construction and construction management.

 As the Building Official my responsibilities for the City are managing the permit department, code enforcement, plan review, zoning, and inspections.  Through the years I have achieved multiple inspection licenses and certifications.  These include being a Licensed Floodplain Manager, Licensed code officer, Licensed plumbing inspector, Licensed electrical inspector, Haz-mat certified, NIMIS certified, Licensed backflow assembly tester, hold a Class C wastewater and Class C water distribution license.

 I look forward to working with you on your project in the future.  There are many ways we in the Permit and Inspections office in Clute City Hall can help you, including checking zoning, project planning, reviewing requirments, and helping you avoid problems with your project.  I want to thank you in advance for the help and cooperation in improving this wonderful City we enjoy.
